Snowmobiling

For those who love the fast and easy way of winter travel, the trails are waiting.

Michigan is one of only three states that offer a large system of interconnected snowmobile trails. A unique combination of abundant snow, exciting terrain and an extensive trail network has made Michigan known to snowmobilers nationwide. Be sure to ride the 19-mile snowmobile trail between Charlevoix and East Jordan. There’s a snow clubhouse located at M 32 and Mt. Bliss Road. The Charlevoix Snowmobile Trail connects with the Jordan River State Forest Trail and also connects with the Northern Michigan Snowmobile trail network. The city trail goes into downtown Charlevoix to East Park, which provides access to the downtown businesses. Michigan State Law requires all snowmobiles to be registered. A snowmobile owned by a non-resident must display a valid registration from their home state or province, or be registered in Michigan before it can be operated in Michigan. Snowmobile trail permit stickers are available on-line through the Department of Natural Resources, or the Michigan Snowmobile Association.
