| Mt. McSauba |
|
The City of Charlevoix offers one
of the few municipal ski facilities
left in Michigan. Mt. McSauba is
ranked as one of the top three small
ski areas in the United States.
It is located on McSauba Road only
about a half mile from town, overlooking
Lake Michigan. Mt. McSauba offers
excellent family skiing, both downhill,
and cross-country, snowboarding,
snowblading, snowshoeing, and sledding.
It is perfect for skiers of all
abilities with five runs, four rope
tows and lighted skiing. There’s
also a free, lighted steep sledding
hill. The longest run is 1,00 feet
and the highest run elevation is
150 feet.
The groomed cross country trail
is 2km long, flat ground to steep
hills, free, and lighted at night.
There are also approximately 80
acres of ungroomed trails that are
not lit.
